How To Apply

You must complete the following steps in order to receive financial aid. These steps must be completed each academic year that you wish to receive financial aid. Keep in mind that the priority deadline is April 1, so submit all documentation as quickly as possible to allow time for processing. If you miss the priority deadline, don't worry! You can still apply throughout the year because funds are typically available year-round.

Step 1: Submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) through the U.S. Department of Education. If this is your first time completing a FAFSA, start by getting your PIN.
Note: The following school code is required for the FAFSA and LSCS financial aid applications: 011145

Step 2: Submit your Financial Aid Worksheet (PDF) to LSC. View the Terms and Conditions governing financial aid at Lone Star College. Applying for aid indicates your agreement to the terms and conditions.

Step 3:  All loan funds are disbursed via direct deposit to a U.S. Bank VISA card.  This card will be mailed to your primary mailing address as it appears on your 'My Records' account prior to disbursement.  Complete the Electronic Funds Transfer Cancellation form if you wish loan funds be disbursed as a paper check delivered by U.S. Mail.

Submit or mail completed forms to the Financial Aid office of the Lone Star College System college of your choice.  Your financial aid award is valid at any Lone Star College System college.
